During class you get to paint a piece provided by BSpoke 4U with the technique of your choice, to take home with you. We’ll also provide you with a Chalk Paint® Work Book for your future products.

Watercolor: A Splash of Color

Enjoy the freedom of Wet-on-Wet Painting!! Artists will learn to paint with wet techniques to create a non-distinctive background with varied, unpredictable watercolor effects through use of spray bottle, droppers, and splattering. When background is dry, more layers can be added, creating dripping and uneven edges. This more modern-type painting style leans toward abstract as each artist’s creativity emerges.

Floating Along

‘Water’ is the star of this painting! Placing dark to light colors side by side with directional strokes create the illusion of water; blending of colors will be limited. Application of paint will be with palette knives, rollers, brushes, cardboard, etc.

Paint Into Abstract

Experiment and dive into the world of abstract!!! Find inspiration from modern paintings or old master paintings, from nature or common objects to set the theme for a new painting. Artists are led in discussions and will follow demonstrations using form, space, texture, line and color. Simplification is key for this abstract painting.

Painting simplified trees…time to ‘branch’ out! From abstract to realism, trees remind us of new beginnings, life, strength, stability, possibilities. Discussion and demonstration will guide each artist’s tree interpretation.

Seeing & Painting Connected Spaces

Escape and Paint!!! Simplify paintings by ‘massing’ areas together like sky, ground, water, trees, buildings, and hills! Texture, color and values will add interest to your painting beyond brushwork, by using palette knives, cardboard, and/or mini paint rollers.

Oh, Foggy Day

Let’s create atmosphere and space using fog and mist over water or fields. Each painting will feature a misty look. Watercolor skills of dropping-in color, spraying, lifting color, and softening will be introduced and practiced.
